Yes! After 10 months of public beta status, Smereka 1.0.0 is available for download.
During this time, Smereka was downloaded thousands of times and received positive feedback. The public beta stage showed that there were no significant problems with design, performance and stability, so we can move on.
1.0.0, with respect to the 0.9 series, has mostly developer-oriented changes. Firstly, the plugin interface has been reworked. The plugin interface in 0.9 was experimental and not extensible: a change to the interface would render all existing plugins incompatible. In 1.0 the plugin interface was finalized and modified to be able to change without breaking existing plugins. (Of course, it's not compatible with 0.9.* series any more.) Secondly, a plugin SDK is now available for programmers who'd like to extend Smereka's capabilities by creating new item data types, export or import operations.
Under the hood, a system of automated UI testing was developed for the release 1.0.0. The automated tests cover most of the major features of Smereka and run on all supported Windows platforms under different configurations. The automated UI test suite amends the database backend test suite, present since the beginning of Smereka, and allows to do major refactoring and platform verification.
From the user perspective, there were a couple of minor bugfixes and enhancements. Since the new plugin system is incompatible with the old one, upgrade is highly recommended.
